Bush actually seems to believe that he's making us safer by violating human rights in front of the wolrd, by angering and insulting most other countries, by feeding radical muslims with further “proof” of America's imperialism.
One absolutely certain way to make America safe from terrorists is to create peace in Israel. As long as America continues to side with a corrupt and radical Israeli government, we will be hated and targeted by radical Muslims.
The Israeli government hugely subsidizes its citizens to build in settlements that destroy the chances for peace. Israeli extremists start building settlements in forbidden places the within hours of talks peace accords being reached and the Israeli government does nothing about it.
The Israeli's are just as much at fault if not more so for the ongoing discord yet only a little pressure has been applied to get them to change their ways.
